As leaders in the voiceover industry, we have proudly joined the Australian Association of Voiceover Artists (AAVA) as a Gold Member. This significant milestone marks a new chapter in our commitment to excellence and industry advocacy.
AAVA is a not-for-profit association for those who work as Voice Actors, as well as those who facilitate and draw income from the Voice Acting industry in Australia, such as Casting Directors, Agents & Management, Audio Engineers, Sound Recordists. Creative Agencies, Suppliers of Audio Gear, and Studios.
AAVA seeks to preserve the viability of the Voice Acting profession by lobbying to government, unions, and industry on behalf of all concerned parties. Their work is already gaining traction with its first major campaign, ‘AI – Your Voice Your Choice’, which pushes for protections and legislation of AI technology in the voice-acting sphere.
Simon Kennedy, president of AAVA, states that its primary goal is to advocate and support the human Voice Acting community.
“AAVA will assess the ever-changing landscape and fight for changes to preserve and grow the Voice Acting sector and actively engage with Government officials, policymakers, industry associations, and the MEAA to advocate for these changes. AAVA will strive to enhance the Voice Acting industry through advocacy, education, inclusivity, industry recognition, and proactive measures. We represent the voices people trust and trust is priceless in this digital age.”
As Australia’s most successful, exclusive voice over artist agency, our Gold Membership ensures that our voice artists have a high level of protection, representation and advocacy when it comes to their rights – and copyrights – in the age of AI. From workshops and training sessions to industry insights and advocacy, AAVA equips its members with the tools they need to stay ahead of the curve and provide enhanced services that leverage the latest trends and technologies in the ever-evolving landscape of the voiceover industry.
With expanded access to a vast network of industry professionals, we will now have the chance to engage with other leading companies and voiceover artists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and collaboration. We look forward to joining AAVA in efforts to carve an ethical landscape for voiceover professionals in this new age, and to help direct their ongoing commitment to ensure that human voices remain protected, supported and empowered.
